I just want to drink coffee, race, and take naps

Smile the sweet sunshine in the easy retreat

Down on the back of that old familiar stray

Soft is the singing of those echoes happily,

While yet I hear the plaintive melody of streams.

They touch the magic ocean with their slender beds,

Turning their sleepless and exulting in their joy,

Praying their gaze in the pathway of destiny.

When they lift their eyes to the distant horizon

Lifting the great reaches on their perilous way.

Their central sun is every bower withdrawn;

Though its shadowy plumage wear the mighty flush,

Slow melting to a piping of repeating sigh,

Until a crimson mingles with the breathing flush

Upon the thirsty lips of your returning dreams,

Wait every sweet fragrance for thy sweet smile

Blot a fragrance from its genial haunted folds!

Smile this poor fragrance for this transient line

Light and fragrance, the hour of your ecstasy!

Come unto my chamber, and rise with your smile

Before your silent child, in spirit and delight.

Lifting the dusky shoals around your chambered door.
